CHILD
ASSAULT PREVENTION (CAP) WORKSHOP LEADER:
After receiving 20 hours of training, a CAP Workshop Leader is
periodically assigned to area elementary school classrooms to role-play
skits. The one-hour skits focus on ways children can protect themselves
from bullies, strangers and known adults who might try to hurt them.
Volunteers must successfully pass a complete background check and
be available during the school day.
COURT
APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE (CASA):
CASA volunteers are appointed by one of the Circuit Court judges
in Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln, Putnam and Boone counties to advocate for
the best interest of an abused child in the court system. CASAs must
make a one-year commitment, successfully pass screening and background
checks, and complete 35 hours of local training. CASA volunteers gather
information and make recommendations to the court.
VOLUNTEER
RECOGNITION COMMITTEE MEMBER:
Volunteers sponosr or help us plan recognition events for all
of our volunteers to recognize their efforts on behalf of children.
FUNDRAISING
COMMITTEE MEMBER:
Volunteers are always needed to assist the TEAM's Board of Directors
in organizing and carrying out our fundraising events throughout the
year. Organizing efforts include:
- Pennies
from Heaven (Spring)
- Sale
of CASA holiday cards (Fall)
- Membership
Drive (year-round)
- Service to Children Benefit Dinner (Spring)
